My approach

I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of issues and offer individual, couples, and family therapy. My style is interactive and collaborative—I see therapy as a shared process tailored to your unique needs. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to healing.

My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, while also integrating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBST) and Solution-Focused Therapy. This allows me to offer both practical strategies and deeper, exploratory work as needed.

I approach therapy from an anti-oppressive, healing-centered perspective and always strive to adapt my methods in ways that best support each client’s values, identity, and goals.

Education and Experience

I hold a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Advanced Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. I’m also a PhD Candidate in Social Work, currently completing my doctoral studies.

Before entering private practice seven years ago at Calming Tree Counselling, I spent over two decades working in not-for-profit organizations, providing mental health support to youth and families. Alongside launching my own private practice, I teach part-time at the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Social Work. I believe learning is lifelong and, as a person who is curious and thrives on professional and personal growth, I am constantly engaging in new learning myself.
