Hi, my name is Lirondel. Welcome to my counselling and psychotherapy practice!
As a counsellor with over 20 years of experience, I believe that learning is lifelong and that many people grow best in relationship and dialogue with others. I work with adults, youth, couples and families. Our work together can address mental health, traumatic events and crisis, relationship issues, life transitions, personal growth, or something more specific. I have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, specialized experience with teens and young adults, and experience working with LGBTQ2S+ folks. I am committed to creating an inclusive, compassionate, and supportive space for all.
Therapy is a safe space where you can process and reflect on your past and present experiences, your emotions, and your relationships, with yourself and with others. A trusting, authentic therapeutic relationship is central to this process. I strive to maintain a genuine, collaborative, and compassionate presence to help you move toward change, growth, or healing. I deeply value the connections I build with each of my clients and am honoured to support you on your therapeutic journey.
Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard and valued-when they can give and receive without judgment.

On a personal note, here are some fun facts about me…
- My name, Lirondel, comes from the French word l’hirondelle, meaning “swallow”—a bird that symbolizes love, loyalty, hope, and freedom. Swallows are also seen as omens of good fortune and new beginnings. I was named after my Ukrainian grandmother—a story in itself!
- I grew up in a Russian-speaking Ukrainian-Canadian home, in a vibrant community filled with immigrant families from around the world—an experience that deeply enriched my life and shaped my worldview.
- I’ve been in a long-term relationship (aka married) for over 25 years and together we ‘ve raised three children! It’s been a rewarding journey but not without its challenges!
- I’m passionate about social justice, global issues, and environmental sustainability. These values have led me to engage in volunteer work and support not-for-profit organizations throughout my life.
- Outside of work, you’ll find me practicing yoga, listening to music, dancing—whether at a concert or in my living room—and exploring new places, both near and far.

Land acknowledgement
I respectfully acknowledge that I live, work, and play on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron (Neutral), Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples, land that has been inhabited by indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Although it is important to acknowledge the land and our histories, it is only the first step toward reconciliation.
